Working with resin and nature is the ideal medium to explore your creative side. Have fun learning from talented and well known artist Sally Hopkins as she shares her art of sealing dried flowers and organic items with resin to create lovely effects to use in your jewelry designs. In this 3-day workshop you will create colorful pieces that can be strung together, placed between beads or worn as solo jewelry. Anyone with little or no prior art experience can work with resin. You will be creating multiple pieces throughout the workshop. When you commit to multiple days of creating, you allow yourself to be fully immersed in the creative process. This is the perfect opportunity to become really familiar with this lovely art.

Description of the Resin Workshop
Students will be sealing dried pods, flowers, blossoms, organic objects, etc. which will be skewered onto a stick, then dipped into a watery aqua resin (much like a clay slip consistency) and left to dry between dippings. When the surface is hard it is ready to be hand-colored with paints, inks and color pencils. A final coat of clear resin varnish completes the surface. These colorful pieces can be strung together, put between beads or worn as solo jewelry.

This is a beautiful farmhouse which is set up as an art space, so we hope if you feel the need for a retreat you will consider doing so with a fun group of artists.
*Priority will be to fill the 10 slots with workshop participants, but if we still have open slots by March 31st, we will fill with artists who just need a retreat. We will keep a waitlist for anyone interested.
